Beauty Buys: August & September 2012

So what have I been up to since I made my last few posts?  Shopping like a maniac, that's what.  I think I've told you before that I'm not really a shopper throughout the year but instead, when my birthday draws near, the frequency of my shopping trips greatly increase.  That period of time has arrived which typically begins in August and leads all the way up to my birthday at the end of October.

I do shop throughout the year but not much at all for myself.  Usually everything is all about MJ and Chief and what they need.  I suppose after all, I've found my balance;  I do more for them throughout the year but when "my time" comes, it's all about me.  So here's what I've picked up:

I'd never been inside a Lush store until I accompanied my girl Jenelle there to pick up a body wash she was raving about.  While there I came across this Honey & Lime face mask and since I have a fascination with face masks I decided I'd give it a try.  Has anyone tried this one yet?  I have a feeling I'm going to like it.

Jordin Sparks - Look Alikes Part II

As many people say that I look like LisaRaye, twice as many say that I look like Jordin Sparks.  Check out the comments on any of my youtube vidoes and you'll see "Hey you look like Jordin Sparks" "Omg you could be Jordin Sparks' sister".  Again, I don't see what these people see but I'll just go with it.

Product Review | Koils By Nature Moisturizing Shealoe Leave-in

The Koils by Nature Shealoe Leave-in Conditioner was gifted to me by the wonderful Pamela Jenkins, founder of Koils By Nature, without the expectation of a review.  In July, I'd met her at a networking event in D.C. and she was such a wonderful spirit--a true pleasure to meet.  After trying the Shealoe Leave-in, it was so wonderful I just had to do this review.

Moisturizing Shealoe Leave-In Conditioner is an excellent creamy herbal infused creamy conditioner and detangler intended to smooth the cuticle and remove knots, snarls, and tangles from thick kinky textured hair.

September Inspiration

For all my fellow dream-chasers out there.  The first step is the most terrifying but that's really all it takes.  Just one step. When you start preparing yourself and working towards your goals, you'll see how the doors will begin to open up for you.

It's happened for so many people before us. There's no reason why it wouldn't happen for us too.  Keep reaching for the stars.
